DFID NEPAL / Rural Access Programme ( R. A. P. )
At a time of global financial insecurity and increasing debt a novel UK Aid road building project is training some of the poorest people in Nepali society in skills relevant to road construction.
Earning a wage and saving money allows people to break the cycle of poverty and the reliance on money lenders is broken. This is having a positive impact on wider skill development and the rural road network is being dramatically extended which improves the quality of life in isolated communities.
